Waikato Farm Wedding

From a video recorded leap year proposal to a farm wedding set amongst the rugged landscape of Onewhero in the Waikato, Kim & Steve have some incredible stories to tell their Grandkids!

It all started with a swipe right and less than a year later, on February 29th, former townie Kim proposed to salt of the earth farmer, Steve. Here’s the thing - Steve was away at a wedding and Kim was at home on their farm! After a crisis of running out of water and making sure she had a pebble to propose with (see below), she made her way to a beautiful spot on the farm (now named Proposal Hill) and in her ‘pretty top, farm shorts and gumboots’ recorded a proposal video and hit send. Safe to say the answer was yes!!

Almost a year later and they said I do, overlooked by Proposal Hill and looking out on breathtaking views of the farm. During the ceremony, Steve got down on one knee and proposed to Kim! It was a gorgeous set up with marquee, hay bales and lounging zones by Flock Events.

GENTOO PENGUINS:

“Steven had told me a story once about Gentoo penguins and how the male Gentoo will scour the beach to find the perfect pebble to give as a gift to his chosen companion. With this he gave me this perfectly round, smooth pebble which I've kept with me since. Remembering this story I knew that's what I had to propose to him with. I can't disclose the location but one day I'll thank the owners of the house that have small river stones in their garden - I found the perfect pebble!!
