DIY Farm Wedding

DIY-farm-wedding.JPG

Driving to Rosie and Garrett’s wedding on Garrett’s family farm in rural Helensville, had me full of anticipation. After meeting with them a couple of weeks before, hearing that his Uncle was a set designer and was building all sorts of things for the wedding left me feeling a bit, well, excited to say the least.

One of the most impressive things he built (with help from Garrett’s Dad) was their ceremony backdrop - full of toi toi and beautiful flowers which gave it a boho vibe suiting the day perfectly. The guests sat on hay bales and after the ceremony retreated to a stretch marquee decorated to the nines that lit up spectacularly like a sunset once it was dark. There was a bit of everything in this day - DIY meets rustic, meets boho, meets farm. I just loved it all! So magical.

We were treated to a beautiful expanse of Muriwai Beach for their portraits then headed back to eat amazing food and party with their friends and family. It was truly an amazing day!
