a bit about me
I'm Sam and I take photos for a living. Home is Auckland, New Zealand with my pretty awesome husband Aaron, and two crazy boys Hugo and Louis who I adore. A good brew, chocolate and a decent glass of wine are my absolute weaknesses and I love nothing more than a good brunch.
After the slog of Uni, I graduated with a degree in fashion, packed my bags and headed to London. Travelling extensively during my time overseas is when I truly realised my passion for photography and my desire to one day take it from a hobby to something I could make a career out of. Fast forward 9 years and I succeeded in that dream which was the best feeling in the world. Getting married myself in 2012 is what sparked me to embark on my wedding photography journey and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to photograph people’s love stories.
I would describe my style as natural with a documentary, storytelling approach. I love to capture real moments and emotions and encourage you to relax and be yourselves while I snap away. I want you to have photos that you look at all the time and can treasure for years to come. It makes me so ridiculously happy when I hear how much my clients love their photos.
Along with weddings, I offer lifestyle sessions. These are kind of like a portrait shoot but a bit more relaxed and natural – less posing, more fun and most importantly being yourselves. You can find out more about my services here. Although based in Auckland, I also spend a lot of time in Whangamata on the Coromandel Peninsula where I got married myself so I’m always interested in a Coromandel wedding.
Bitten with the travel bug, I am also open to any national and international enquiries.
